Yanding CP138 chart is designed for measuring resolution of digital camera based on the sinusoidal Siemens star which comply to ISO 12233:2014 standard. The chart contains a radially sine modulated Siemens star in the center of the image, 16 surrounding gray patches and black squares with a small white square in it.
The Siemens star is mainly used to test the MTF in all directions, and it is less sensitive to image sharpening than the hypotenuse MTF.
When analyzing the MTF of the Siemens star and the slanted edge at the same time, the indicators can be compared.
