Resolution is a crucial factor in the cameras and lenses' evaluation. However, for wide-angle and telephoto lenses, using flat test charts for capturing images can often result in images that fail to meet the required standards due to factors such as field of view, distortion, and distance-related issues. In such cases, the RT-RFT Camera Comprehensive Tester can be employed for testing purposes. It incorporates a rotatable collimator and a 6-axis alignment fixture, allowing for comprehensive analysis of image quality across various angles, positions, and distances of the camera.

The system facilitates automatic capturing of images by moving the collimator's slanted edge to different angles and positions relative to the camera. This process results in capturing images from multiple positions. Through automated analysis of images captured from various slanted edge positions, MTF data for different camera positions can be determined.

Additionally, utilizing the same approach with the center dot of the test chart, an image entirely composed of dots can be generated to assess distortion data for wide-angle cameras at equidistant intervals.

This testing system is not limited to the two aforementioned test criteria; it can also measure indicators such as Field of View (FOV), Spatial Frequency Response (SFR), Chromatic Aberration (CA), and Through Focus.

The equipment package comprises a computer with Windows operating system, a rotatable collimator, a six-axis automated alignment platform, an image grabber capable of camera analysis, and control and analysis software capable of automated reporting generation.
